We are excited to announce service for the western portion of Black Hawk County.
New weekly trash pickup route this Friday March 13th.
Offering both 65 and 95 gallon totes, weekly pick up for a 65 gallon is $19.50 and a 96 gal is $23.50.
In order to establish a route we are offering the first 30 customers 20% off the first 3 months of service.
We also understand you might have extra trash right now, so when we deliver your free tote or during your first pickup day we will happy pick up 8 extra bags at no additional charge.

City Sanitary Service is a family-owned company. David and Wendall Abkes operate the business in Parkersburg, Iowa. Wendall Abkes started the company in January of 1960. The company has evolved throughout the years but strives to maintain quality service and community leadership. The Abkes family prides itself on being actively involved in community organizations and giving back as much as possible to the community.
City Sanitary Service moved to its current location in 2011 and can now be found along Highway 57 in Parkersburg. This new location provides customers the chance to stop in and ask questions, see the containers, and pay their bills. We welcome our customers to stop in and see the new automated garbage trucks and residential carts. This new service has been available since July 2013 for the cities of Parkersburg, New Hartford, Kesley, and Aplington.
In 2023 City Sanitary Services was bought by Brett and Molly McDowell Schipper, who work hard to make people the forefront of the company, to improve efficiency, provide excellent service from booking to completion.
City Sanitary Service offers residential, commercial, and industrial garbage services, as well as, roll-off container services, and recycling containers.
